Check list for the development of Services
Here is a checklist that you can use in development or evaluation of your own service level
* Your term of service standards are clearly and fully documented? (When you are writing your standards, this is proof that you take seriously their application)
* Do you have a method to maintain your standards of constant services in the eyes of the employees whose role is to provide them? (This is the place where you have enough posters, signs, Cup of coffee or buttons to remind everyone of standards, especially the specific contact with the client)
* Are your standards visible and measurable? (Only what you see, hear and measure can be translated into rule of behaviour).
* Are applicable by most employees? (Non-realistic goals will do that ruin the morale of the troops).
* They were developed by a team of employees, managers, and customers? (If you get not involved employees in front, you run the risk to get any results from them because the objectives are not realistic. It is also important to involve the customers to ensure you that your standards meet the expectations of your customers)
* Are they close as much as possible of what is expected in your environment?
* Have the unique support of top management and contribute to the achievement of your goals and your mission?
* Do you have a feedback system to know when a standard is unrealistic or ineffective? (in a case like this, the standard should be changed, and all employees informed of the change.) Yet once, it is better a decision in a team approach in improving or changing standards).
* Do you have some sort of applicable disciplinary action when the standards are not met? (you must educate employees on the fact that reach or exceed the standards is an integral part of their work).
